CCB has a wide and growing ministry to Children and Families.

We hope you will find something on this page that you’d like to know more about.

You can find out more information on individual events by clicking on ‘News and Events’ where you will find our calendar.  Click on each event to find out more and whether you need to book.  You can also contact Kirstyn, our Children and Families Minister on kirstyn@ccb.org.uk.

Kirstyn Oliver is our Children and Families Minister. She has worked with children and families for many years and since 2013, has worked with autistic children and their families in educational, therapeutic and church settings. Kirstyn studied a degree in Psychology in Brazil and a Masters in Autism Studies at the University of Kent, in Canterbury. She lived in Brazil for 14 years and speaks fluent Portuguese. Kirstyn has a passion for children´s ministry especially advocating for autistic people within church and has offered several workshops and training days nationally, raising awareness and understanding on autism, belonging and sensory needs.

Kirstyn says, “I’m passionate about being together with children and families on their own unique journey of faith. We all learn and engage in different ways and that´s what is so fascinating about us. I love to learn from others, especially children, and encourage them to use their own gifts and skills. I believe we all have something to offer and I´m excited to have this opportunity to minister with CCB and support the children and families here”.  Kirstyn can be contacted on kirstyn@ccb.org.uk

At Christ Church Beckenham we take the safety of all our members very seriously and as such we adhere to the Safeguarding Policies and Training requirements as set down by the Church of England and the Diocese of Rochester and ensure all necessary checks and practices are followed.

We believe in a church which welcomes and serves all people. We have available some resources which may benefit you (or your child) during your time with us.

We have a sensory box in church. This includes ear defenders, picture symbols and different fidget and sensory items which can be used to support your concentration and/or decrease feelings of anxiety. Please let us know if there is anything else you would benefit from in this box. Ask one of our welcome team for the sensory box if this would support you during the service.

We have some leaflets about our church services so you can become familiar with them beforehand. If you’d like to come and see the church or halls before coming to the actual service to familiarise yourself with the location, please contact us and we can arrange for this to happen.

Additionally during your time with us, if you need a quiet space, please ask one of the welcome team members to show you a safe space. If a child needs this space, we ask that parents accompany their children at all times.

We would love to hear from you, and hear about how we can best support you with any additional needs. We not only want to welcome you in on your first day but would also like to support you in belonging to our community. Please contact Kirstyn, our children and families minister for more information kirstyn@ccb.org.uk
