Who are we?

All through the week we have activities, events and Bible studies for young people to get involved in at Christ Church Beckenham.
Our goal is to be a witness to the love of Jesus and for the young people we meet to get to know him too.
We have a team of volunteers working alongside our Youth Minister Ed to lead these groups.
Ed is a graduate in Youth Work and Ministry from Oasis College with a real passion for seeing young people engage with the Bible, ask questions and have fun.
Below is a list of the groups for you to get an idea of what we are up to.
If you would like to find out some more, or want to chat about anything we do, please do get in contact with our Youth Minister Ed Abernethy.

What’s On at CCB:Youth?

PATHFINDERS (school years 7-9) meet every Sunday morning for games, hanging out and to learn from the Bible together. Our aim, in all our times together, is to learn through Bible study and discussion more of God’s boundless love to us as individuals and what our response should be.

Come along to Pathfinders from 10:30 on Sundays. We meet in the Church and then go over to the halls.

Every first Sunday of the month there is an All-Age service, so there is no Pathfinders that morning. However you can go along to the morning service that week.

The Junction (school years 10+) meets every Sunday night from 6:15-8:15 in the Church Halls. We hang out in the lounge and play football, four square, pool and table tennis. Then we have a bit of a talk which is a part of the theme for the term. Recently we have looked at Youth For Fairtrade and The Wisdom Literature in the Bible. The Junction is the perfect place to catch up with friends, deepen your faith and have a great time in Church.

When The Sunday Conversation is running instead of our Evening Praise service young people that attend The Junction are invited to come and sit with Ed at the rest of the young people.

Sunday Line (Years 10-11) is our newest group!
They meet on a Sunday morning as part of our Sunday morning worship, but there is a big difference…
Sunday Line is a youth led Bible study group. They have been looking at topics like poverty, consumerism and the environment and how does our faith help and challenge us to engage with others and our world. They do this in the lounge when the other Sunday schools go to their groups. If you want to join them just come along to church on a Sunday morning and we will make sure you get to the right place!
Sunday Line doesn’t run over All-Age services (usually the first Sunday of the month.)

Track Groups (school years 10+) meet every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30-8:45pm. However, the Tuesday Track Group is for those in years 10 and 11 and the Wednesday Track Group is for those in years 12+. The Track Groups are a time to get to know God better, to hang out with our friends and think about how to apply our faith to our daily lives. The younger group has looked at central Biblical characters, confirmation and are going on to study Luke-Acts. The older group have been going through Mark, Acts and the Minor Prophets. They are now going to look at what it means to be a Christian at uni.

The Track Groups meet in two different places, so to join a Track Group you’ll need to email me to get more information. My email is Ed@ccb.org.uk
