Home Groups

People grow best when they are connected in healthy small groups. This is never more true than when it comes to growing as followers of Jesus. God is all about relationships, so how do we think that we can really get to know more about him, if we don’t gather together.

At Christ Church we have over a dozen Home Groups which meet in and around Beckenham. Each has between 7 and 15 members and some meet weekly, whilst others meet twice a month. Some meet on church premises, but most meet in people’s homes. Some happen during the daytime with the majority meeting in the evening.

There is a Small Group for you!

As you would expect, different groups have different personalities so there is bound to be one that suits you. You can expect bible study, friendship, prayer, sometimes food, sometimes outings and always care. Scroll down this page to find out the dates, times and “flavours” of each group.

We are a community who want to follow Jesus. We would love you to come and be amongst us.  To find out more, please contact Helen in the church office.

Our Home Groups or Small Groups are usually made up of 7 to 15 people who gather to study God’s Word and discuss the issues and challenges of life that we all face. It is also where we pray and care for one another and where you are missed when you are not there.

House Groups come in all shapes and sizes and all are welcome – married couples, singles, young adult or empty nesters. We have a women’s group and a fledgling men’s group.

What's the point of a Home Group

Life change can

happen here

There are five great things you will find in our small groups:

  • Time to look deeper into the Bible
  • Opportunity to make lasting friendships
  • Freedom to question
  • Practical help and care
  • Encouragement in Faith and Life

If you’re interested in joining one of our small groups, GREAT! But we know that it can be difficult to take the next step from a large group environment like our weekend worship service to a smaller setting. So we think the easiest way to take things further is to fill in the contact form below and one of the team who looks after our home groups will get in touch very soon.

If you’re interested in a small group with a specific focus like Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry or our seniors, then please hit the link or mention it on your contact form.

We meet every other week on a Thursday morning at 10:30 in the church hall. We’re a group of retired church members (men and women) but we like to think we behave like we did when we were in our 40’s! We are the right group for you to join if you want to ask questions, share stories and needs, pray for each other and study the bible.

As a Home Group, we may look more “mature” but are young-at-heart and would certainly welcome new members of any age! We usually meet twice monthly, on a Wednesday evening, and are keen to explore different ways of thinking about and studying the bible, and sharing Jesus’ love for our community especially through friendship and hospitality. We try to share the leading of studies and hosting venue; and we enjoy sharing social events, especially eating and drinking, together and with others….. Our group meets in a family home every Tuesday fortnight in school times. We tend to be one or both halves of parents of school age children (and therefore of a certain age) but are very open to broadening the demographic! We improve our understanding of the difference Jesus makes in our daily lives and deepen our relationship with one another through bible study and prayer. For more details please contact the church office: office@ccb.org.uk

We are a small group of 7 whose ages range from 50 – 80’s. We meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings. Hosting is shared around 4 homes. Our studies follow the Bible through the guidance of the church fellowship. We a social event usually around Christmas time. Contact the church office for details: office@ccb.org.uk

The Erasmus home group meet weekly (well, most weeks – at least three a month) at Magnolia Court in The Avenue. The group consists of four couples and two women and has, over the years, developed a close and meaningful relationship as we explore our faith, the Bible and what it means to be a Christian in the modern world.
We are constantly amazed at the Bible’s relevance and how much knowledge and interpretation is often found in just a few verses!
We also have the occasional social event – from a movie evening to a games evening or a meal together.
Sociable, seeking and serving sums us up!

We are a happy caring women’s group who meet fortnightly, just off the Bromley road, between 4.30 and 6pm.
We support each other with the bible studies and we are by no means theologians! We always set aside a time to pray.
It’s a place where we can confidently share within our group. Contact the Church Office for more details: office@ccb.org.uk

We are a 60s to 90s home group but are still young at heart!  We enjoy studying the Bible and we support one another by prayer and practically.  We meet every 1 to 2 weeks in the home of one of our members. Please contact the Church Office for more details: office@ccb.org.uk
